Why the articles?
I've been writing almost all of my life, so why stop now? What I found when I first became interested in finches is that the information available was subjective, one person's experience, anecdotal, contrary to the next article I read and I threw up my hands.
"Where's the science?" I asked myself and started looking for it. As my knowledge progressed, I shared it with members of various finch groups I belong to on Yahoo.
When you wrtie an article about something for publication, it's amazing how much you learn--I was a good journalism student in college and found if you didn't do your homework, someone was sure to call you on it.
Trying to be accurate makes me dig a little deeper and as a result makes me a better finch breeder.
